Camp is constantly adjusting to change; and lots of it. Every week is a hundred times different. Yet every week has a lesson intertwined within it all. I love looking for God in each week. I love seeing his hard lessons as well as his humor, oh camp is full of Gods humor. Camp is a constant adjustment and God is the only thing steady. What a great life lesson I’m learning this summer. What a great, hard, and wonderful thing I get to do.
I love camp because it asks for all. It is not a place where you can give only a part of yourself, it demands all; it demand the fullness of your heart. It’s a constant process of surrendering and dying to oneself, yet refinement has never looked so good, has never been more beautiful.
Camp is a world of its own. Camp is a different culture. Camp is separate from life outside the valley. Camp is camp and there is nothing else like it.
If I was dying and I got one wish I would say get me on the phone with the producer of gossip girl so I can ask why Serena graduated high school without a graduation hat with her tassel clipped in her hair.
Because I, for the life of me, will never understand that.
